Fashion Photography

1.  In the first video the model starts of not wearing makeup and she has freckles, dark blue eyes, small lips and a little cricked nose. During the photoshop process the photographer made her eyes bigger and her eye color lighter. They also made her lips and nose holes bigger and since she already had makeup on which covered  her freckles they made her lighter.

2.  In the second video the model is a little chunky and has a lot of uncovered flaws and during the photoshop process they make her skinny. It is a very slow process to do and they also made her hair longer and bigger. They made her look skinny even though she wasn't.

3.

  • her arm were made smaller
  • her wrists were made thinner
  • her finger were less chubby
  • her butt was made smaller
  • her boobs were made smaller
  • her legs look smaller and fit
  • they added more hair
  • her hair was made bigger
4. I do not think its acceptable because that could bring the model self esteem go down unless they agreed that it was okay. I don't think its acceptable because then it puts a certain definition on how girls should look.

5. I don't thinks it wrong because the agreed to do the photoshoot and they must know what they are going to do.

6. The changes that are okay to make about the model is there hair and the minor flaws like acne. The changes that are not okay is when they make major changed to their body like making them skinnier, taller, shorter, etc.

7. Fashion photography is all about things being perfect and beautiful , photojournalism takes in all the flaws and problems and turn it into a story.

8. Society is used to seeing people being flawless and beautiful and people usually judge how they models actuallly look like.

9. To show the good and bad traits of photography.

10. Because its usually the girls who worry about how they look.

My Favorite Cover

Favorite

Finalist
New York, February 18–25, Spring Fashion
"New York’s “Spring Fashion” cover with actress Elle Fanning has artist Will Cotton revisiting Johannes Vermeer’s famous painting “Girl With a Pearl Earring” in pose, expression, and lighting, while Fanning’s Vivienne Westwood–inspired headpiece made of icing and designed by Cotton prepares readers for the stunning “Candy Land” portfolio inside the magazine. Cotton has been using candy in his artwork “as a metaphor for pure pleasure” since the late nineties, and used spring looks as inspiration for New York."

There are many reasons why I chose this picture as my favorite one of the reasons is that I like Elle Fanning I think she is really pretty and a good actress. Also I like how the photographer made a headpiece out of icing I thought that was very clever and excellent work I thought it was real flowers. I also like he tried to resemble the "Girl With The Pearl Earrings" in the portrait as well, Elle looks a little bit like the girl. The lighting in the photo is really good it emphasis her face well.

American Soldier Slide Show

A)  I think the most powerful photo is when Ian's mom is crying when he is arriving form iraq, because its his mom and it just shows how much she cares for him and proud of him.

B) #1 Images 1-7
#2 Images 8-48
#3 Images 49-70
#4 Images 71-82

Images 71-82 were powerful because its a soldier coming home and I think that powerful. Its powerful because everybody is happy to see him come back.

C) They work together because the pictures are capturing almost every moment and they are ordered by date.

A) The verbs are usually explaining whats happening and what he's doing. The verbs are in present tense.
